Hey everyone!
We have an exciting announcement to make about SMD! We finally have a FULL TIME GUITARIST for the band and he is awesome! His name is KEVIN O'SHAUGHNESSY and we think, when you get the opportunity to hear him, you'll agree that he is as perfect of fit as we could have ever asked for with the band! Thanks again to BRIAN JOYCE for sitting in for us for the past 5 months. Brian rocks as well and we'll miss him and his creative influences. We will be posting Kevin's bio and picture as our new guitarist on our myspace and web-site in the next week.
So, what does this mean?? Well, now we have four dedicated musicians that are willing to put in the extra time required to finally get this project OFF THE GROUND!!! (It's about damn time!!!) We are taking the next month off for some serious intensive rehearsal time to get Kevin up to speed on all of our current and new tunes. We should be up and running for shows by mid May! (YES!!) So, STAY POSTED and keep checking in. Shows will be added soon!

Hey Everybody!!!!!
First of all, you all are the shit! Wow!!! What a great show last weekend at BILL'S BAR in Boston! Out of this World!! Hey. It pays to play on a weekend. Over 250 heads came out to that show and half of them were SMD fans!! Thanks for an incredible night of rock and roll. Hopefully we lived up to your expectations!
So, we're guessing you're wondering what's next? Well, you all may know that Brian Joyce is moving on and so we are auditioning guitarist. It's really hard to find someone these days that is truly an awesome guitar player and can live up to previous SMD guitarists Liam Bliven and Brian Joyce. We have some exceptional prospects and, to be honest, it's damn exiciting! That's all we can say. Hopefully we will have the postion filled in the next week and be up and running for shows by mid May. No, let's correct that. WE WILL BE up and running by mid May. Can't wait!Thanks again for all your continued support. We will let you know about our next show as soon as it comes available. Hello to everyone!
So last week we had a really fun show at the music club Church here in Boston. Unfortunately the weather gods were not with us and so most of you decided to stay home. Hey, we don't blame you. It was really a horrible, cold and wet night. However, to the few of you that did attend our SNOW SHOW, I hope had as an incredible night, because we did! Needless to say, THAT SHOW KICKED ASS!!! All three band SMD, Gold Star Morning and, driving in all the way from the Cape, The Commonwealth, (you fellas rock!) well, there's no other way to say it...we absolutely ripped up the evening!! Then, after all was said and done, we all got drunk together ta boot!!! So, for the other two bands, hats off! You guys kick serious butt. And for all the few attendees, thanks you SO MUCH FOR YOUR UNWAVERING SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!
On to new stuff!! For everyone who hasn't, or even has been to an SMD show lately, our next show is an absolute must! On MARCH 14TH we will make our first appearance at BILL'S BAR on Lansdowne Street in Boston and it's going to be an absolutely, not even pullin' your lil' chains, an off the wall evening. We are playing with two incredible bands. We'll open the show, then we'll be followed by Val Emmich out of NYC and the night will end with one of Boston's best known pop rock bands, McAlister Drive!! (If you watch the show Ugly Betty on ABC then you may already know Val Emmich. He is currently Betty's next door neighbor and love interest! Woo hoo!) This show is scheduled to...SELL OUT...at least 2 weeks before the show date. So GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!! Where? Hey Everybody!!!
If you didn't make it out to our last show of 2008 at The Middle East Upstairs you missed a damn fine night of rock music! Everything went off without a hitch and a great turn out to boot! Thanks to everyone who did make it out and for those of you who didn't, don't worry. We are back in the the saddle for 2009 with a ton of awesome new additions to SMD!!! We're not going to go any further than that for now, but I will say that some of these additions will start at our first show of the year on Jan. 28th, at CHURCH!! Three great bands and an awesome night of letting your hair down is no doubt going to ensue!! Put it on your calendars now and we'll see ya there!

If you haven't heard already we have signed on for one more show in 2008!! We are playing The Middle East Upstairs on Wednesday, December 17th! We go on at 9:30PM and it should be and awesome night. Come start the Holidays early with a good ole SMD show. We promise to tickle your little ears with some new tunes and tease you with our lollypops while on stage! That's right, I said lollypops. This is all Bill's idea. Really.

Hey Everyone!
Just a quick shout out to all of ya that came out and supported us last week at our TT's show! It was a good time had by all, to say the least! The premier of not only our new guitarist, Brain Joyce (who completely ripped it up, we must say!), but also the premier of TWO NEW TUNES!! What a great response to all the new things that are happening with SMD!!
So hey, if you missed the show, don't panic! We have another right around the corner. THURSDAY, NOV 6, 2008 AT CLUB BOHEMIA (downstairs at the Cantab in Cambridge). This is really a fun venue to see us play so we hope all of you can make it out! Oh yeah, we'll premier yet another new tune at this show so make sure you don't miss it!!

So we have lots of news to tell, so listen up!
Well, hopefully we've covered it all. New things. Change is good!!! We can't wait to see you all in October. Rock on!
- If you haven't noticed, our Club Bohemia show has been rescheduled to a later date. It is now on Thursday Novemeber 6th. Check our main page for all the details.
- Unfortunately, we have some bad news. Long time guitarist for SMD, Liam Bliven, has gone his seperate way and is no longer with the band. We wish Liam and his family all the best and truly thank him for his incredible contribution to this project. His laid down some sick tracks on our debut album, Liquid, with incredible skill and musicianship. We are gonna miss ya, kiddo!
- Good news! SMD has a new guitarist!! We would like to introduce Mr. Brian Joyce!! (Some of you may know Brian from the band, Anomopoly.) Without a doubt Brian is going to contribute a great deal to this project. Thanks Brian for taking up the reins.
- So now what?!? Well, we've kinda of been out of the loop so to speak for the last few months while we worked through some very important band issues. Now it's all behind us and everything has turned out for the best, for everyone! INCLUDING YOU!! SMD is spending more quality time together and we've been very busy writing and creating new material!! YES!!! So what does this mean?...
- OUR OCTOBER 1ST SHOW AT TT THE BEAR'S IS GOING TO BE LOADED WITH NEW TUNES!! Some of these songs are without a doubt the most creative tunes to come out of us, EVER!!!! Trust me when we say you're not going to want to miss this one!! Plus, it's Brian's debut with the band and you aren't going to believe your ears when you hear his contribution!

Hey everybody!
First off thanks a ton for all of you who have come out and supported the band on our last two shows. They where absolutely last minute gigs, but both shows proved to be the best yet. We especially had an awesome time at The Cantab last night. Thanks to all of our old fans that came out and thanks to all of the new ones that have jumped on board the last few months. You rock!!
So on to bigger and better. Our next scheduled show is a pretty big deal and we'd love to have all of the SMD fans we can get to show up!! JULY 13TH AT 3PM!! Put is on your calendars now!!!! It's Upstairs at the Middle East and it's our first BATTLE OF THE BANDS type show. The more people that show up the more chances we have at winning!!! We are still PUMPED UP!!
This is a quick shout out to everyone who came out to support us at TT's this past Tuesday. Absolutely and awesome time had by all! This show was so rockin' thanks to all you pumped up and adoring fans! We love to play for you guys so keep it groovin' and keep comin' to our shows!! We are premiering some new tunes in the next few months so stay posted as to when we will be playing out!!

State Of The Band Address!!!! Hello to all! Just taking a moment to update everyone on what the heck we've been up to since the start of 2008. So, consider this our "State Of The Band Address" for 2008!! Mostly our focus has been on promotion of our new CD, Liquid. You know, reviews, press release, press kit, etc. We are also focusing on getting our butts out on stage a little more this year. (Oh, if you didn't notice, we have a show next Tuesday, 1/29/08, at TT The Bear's Place in Cambridge. Go to our Shows page for more details!) We will be looking not only to gig in Boston, but also venture out to the burbs and beyond! We will post shows on our shows page as soon as they are booked, so keep checking in. The last bit of news is we are currently writing new material!! YES!! Finally, something new! So, be expecting to hear the tracks form the album at live shows as well as some brand new shit!

HEY all you SMD FANS!!
Well here we are in October, leaves are changing and falling, soon winter will be upon us( sorry had to say it.) There is NO better way to stay warm this winter with the NEW CD from Slow Motion Driver. That's right it is here and ready to be spun and ROCK your WORLD!!!!.
And as if you could not already notice we have a BRAND NEW website. We hope you enjoy our new slice of the Web world.

Howdy all you SMD FANATICS!!!
O.K. Let's start out with another apology for taking so long to update this damn page!!! But, the reasons for not updating regularly are great! We are still up to our ever lovin' eyeballs in finishing up the CD and getting it out this summer!! So, bare with us and we'll try to update more frequently. So, for all you wild SMD fans that came out to our April 7th show, thanks for the tremendous support! It was a great turn out, an awesome night of music and we all gotta party it up, ta boot!!! HOO WOO!! For those of you who weren't in attendance you missed the debut of our new song "Liquid." The response to this tune was so positive that we've decided to go back into the studio next month and lay it down and add it to the upcoming CD release. It has also been decided, by the powers that be, that "Liquid" should be the title track to our debut CD!!! This really excites us because this tune is ROCKIN"!!! Yes, it will probably push back our release date to August, but all good things...
Other news! The three demo songs on this site "Alive," "Monster" and 'SMD" have been updated to their newer versions most recently recorded and due out this summer. The same goes for our Myspace tunes. Also on Myspace, we will be changing the "Teaser" tune weekly to let ya'll hear parts of the newer tracks as well. SO GO TO OUR MYSPACE PAGE, NOW!!! Tomorrow the band goes in for a photo shoot. Yes, it's gonna be sexy and I know you can't wait to see them!! Patients, please!!! Be looking for these new band pics in the near future_.

Hey Everybody!!!
Just a quick reminder that we have a show next Saturday night, April 7th, at SKY BAR in Somerville. We should be on at 10PM. It's an early show so you can start your Saturday night off with a little rock and roll!! We'll be playing a number of tunes from our upcoming CD, due out this summer, as well as premiering a brand spankin' new tune entitled..."LIQUID!!!!"
